In one of the most chilling crimes to hit Lucknow in recent times, a young man has been arrested for the brutal murder and dismemberment of his father. While early reports suggested that the horrific act was a tragic consequence of immense pressure to clear the NEET medical entrance exam, deeper investigations by Enoxx News reveal a much darker motive: a desperate and greedy bid to take over the family’s lucrative business empire.
Manvendra Singh, the victim, was a successful businessman who owned a chain of pathology laboratories and liquor shops across the city. His son, Akshat, had entirely different plans for his future than what his father envisioned. Manvendra wanted his son to earn professional credentials and become a doctor before even thinking about the family enterprise. Akshat, however, saw the established businesses as a shortcut to wealth and power, completely rejecting the years of rigorous study required to clear NEET.
This fundamental disagreement simmered for months, but the breaking point in their relationship occurred about four months prior to the murder. Valuable jewelry went missing from the family home. Initially, a police complaint was filed against the domestic help, but internal family inquiries soon pointed the finger at Akshat. Although Manvendra quietly withdrew the police complaint to save the family from public embarrassment, the incident shattered his trust in his son. From that day forward, he kept a strict watch over Akshat’s activities, fueling the young man’s resentment.
The tension culminated on the early morning of February 20. What began as another heated argument over Akshat’s studies quickly spiraled out of control. In a fit of calculated rage, Akshat allegedly picked up his father’s licensed rifle and shot him in the head on the third floor of their residence. The gunshot drew the attention of his younger sister, Kriti, who rushed to the room only to witness a scene of unimaginable horror. Akshat immediately threatened her, warning of dire consequences if she breathed a word to anyone, leaving her paralyzed with fear for four agonizing days.
With his father dead, Akshat faced the grim reality of disposing of the body. Finding the corpse too heavy to move down the stairs and into a car alone, he resorted to a ghastly plan. He went to a local market, purchased a heavy-duty saw, and systematically dismembered his father. He dumped the severed limbs in the Sadrauna area of the city. Unable to immediately dispose of the torso, he bought a large blue plastic drum, stuffed the remains inside, and hid it in the house. Police sources also indicate that acid was used in a desperate attempt to destroy forensic evidence.
The elaborate cover-up began to unravel when Akshat filed a missing person report on February 21, claiming his father had traveled to Delhi and his phone was unreachable. However, his constantly changing statements raised red flags for the investigators. A thorough forensic examination of the house and the family car revealed wiped bloodstains and signs of a massive cleanup. Faced with undeniable scientific evidence and intense interrogation, Akshat’s web of lies collapsed, leading him to confess to the grisly murder.
