New Delhi, March 11 — Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has revealed key details of its upcoming Vivo Y51 Pro 5G, a mid-range smartphone expected to bring a large battery, 5G connectivity and a new MediaTek processor to the company’s Y-series lineup.
According to specifications published by the company, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo processor, designed to support faster performance and improved efficiency for gaming and multitasking. The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, placing the device in the competitive mid-range smartphone segment.
Focus on long battery life
One of the standout features of the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G is its 7,200mAh battery, significantly larger than most smartphones currently available in the segment. The company says the device will support 44W FlashCharge, allowing faster charging despite the large battery capacity.
Large batteries are increasingly becoming a key selling point in the mid-range smartphone market, especially for users who rely heavily on mobile gaming, video streaming and long daily usage.
Display and camera specifications
The smartphone is expected to feature a 6.75-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which should provide smoother scrolling and improved visual performance during gaming and media consumption.
In terms of photography, the device is tipped to include a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, while the front is expected to house an 8-megapixel selfie camera. These specifications place the phone in line with many mid-range competitors currently available in India.
The camera setup is expected to support 4K video recording, targeting users who rely on smartphones for content creation and social media.
Durability features and software
Another notable aspect of the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G is its focus on durability. The handset is reported to carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating resistance to water and dust under certain conditions.
The device will run Vivo’s customized software interface on top of Android, offering features aimed at performance optimization and smoother user experience.
Expected price and market position
Industry reports suggest that the smartphone could be priced at around ₹24,999 in India, although the company has not yet officially confirmed pricing or launch timelines.
If launched at that price, the Vivo Y51 Pro 5G would compete with several mid-range 5G smartphones in the Indian market that offer large batteries, high refresh rate displays and multi-camera systems.
The device is expected to strengthen Vivo’s presence in the mid-range smartphone segment, where competition remains intense among brands including Xiaomi, Realme and Samsung.
Further details about the official launch date, availability and launch offers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
