Bilaspur, March 15 — The body of a young man who had been reported missing from the Ghumarwin area of Bilaspur district in Himachal Pradesh has been recovered from a deep gorge near Swarghat, officials said on Saturday.
According to police, the youth had been missing for several days, prompting concern among family members and residents of the area. A search operation was launched after relatives approached the authorities and reported his disappearance.
The body was eventually discovered in a gorge along a mountainous stretch near Swarghat, a location known for steep terrain and deep ravines.
Search operation leads to discovery
Police teams and local volunteers were involved in the search effort to trace the missing youth. During the operation, authorities located the body at the bottom of the gorge.
Officials said the terrain in the region often makes rescue and recovery operations challenging due to steep slopes and dense vegetation.
After the body was recovered, it was taken into police custody and later sent for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
