Authorities in Lahaul–Spiti reported heavy snow accumulation in several areas, affecting connectivity with neighbouring districts. Officials said snow clearance operations had begun in affected regions, particularly along key mountain routes.
Road Connectivity and Travel Disruptions
Several internal roads in high-altitude areas were temporarily closed due to snow accumulation. Drivers were advised to avoid unnecessary travel and follow instructions issued by local administration and police.
Tourism destinations such as Manali experienced increased tourist footfall as visitors arrived to witness fresh snowfall. However, authorities warned tourists to remain cautious and avoid venturing into risky areas during unstable weather conditions.
Local administration teams along with disaster management units remained on alert across vulnerable regions. Emergency services were deployed in areas where snowfall disrupted movement or electricity supply.
Administration Issues Weather Advisory
Officials said snow clearance teams were working to reopen roads where possible while monitoring weather conditions closely. Authorities urged residents and travellers to stay updated with weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel in snow-affected areas.
The snowfall also raised the possibility of further weather disruptions across higher reaches if cold conditions persist over the coming days. Local administrations across affected districts remain prepared to respond to any emergency situations arising from the ongoing weather activity.
