About Candidate
Vijay Kumar is a candidate for Zila Parishad Member from Bhatalla Ward under Shahpur Assembly constituency, District Kangra. He has previously served in public life and has experience working at different levels of local governance. His political journey began when the people of his panchayat first elected him as Pradhan. Later, with public support, his mother was elected as Zila Parishad Member in 2010, and he himself went on to serve as BDC Chairman in 2015.
Known for staying connected with local residents and understanding public concerns closely, Vijay Kumar says his focus is not on politics but on standing with the people in times of need. He believes public representatives should remain accessible to youth, elderly citizens, and families facing difficulties. He aims to work without discrimination, false promises, or negativity, and wants to strengthen development and public welfare in the area.
He is contesting again with the intention of continuing unfinished works and addressing issues that still need attention. His vision is to ensure that people feel they have elected someone from among themselves who understands their problems and works sincerely for the welfare of the region.
